Hutton youth are challenged to navigate both obstacles and opportunities in their young lives. Through our SALUTE service-learning opportunities, Team Odyssey adventure program and Journeys creative arts experience, Hutton helps youth develop critical thinking, emotional intelligence and creative processing skills for success. These on- campus extracurricular clubs are informed by solid asset-based research and designed to support resiliency development.
Journeys is a creative arts program which provides the opportunity for young artists to express themselves, to explore the world around them and to be creative. Members are given a free and safe place to use their imaginations and artistic abilities to help them resolve internal conflicts, increase their self-awareness and gain self-esteem through the creative process.
SALUTE (Service and Leadership United Through Education) is a weekly 4-H and service learning program. While utilizing personal strengths and assets, Salute members look beyond themselves towards the needs of others through community and global engagement as well as activities that foster awareness, empathy and servant leadership skills.
Odyssey is an adventure-based Scouting program that strives to develop self-confidence, personal resilience and leadership for our youth through outdoor challenges. These challenges require teamwork, trust, perseverance and resilience.
Summer at Hutton provides more time and flexibility for creative play, fitness and team- building activities that foster health, wellness, and community. With daily enrichment sessions, weeklong immersions for programs, and an abundance of family time, the children are fully engaged and active with skilled and caring supervision.
We aren’t just a place to live, but rather a neighborhood of care, providing opportunities for growth and development for children residing with us. Stay connected and see what’s going on at Hutton Settlement!
