In conjunction with the S.E.T. (Social, Emotional and Talent development) program students at Hutton are participating in, “Health Rocks!” is an 8 week, nation-wide 4-H series that focuses on reducing drug and alcohol abuse in youth.
Within the lessons, the students will be learning about addiction, risks and the influence of family and peers on decision making. Self-awareness, managing stress, staying motivated and making healthy choices are all topics that will be addressed over the 8 weeks. Children will also learn to make and set goals and the importance of volunteering and community service.
Maintaining healthy relationships and learning good decision-making skills are crucial for teenagers and adolescents and the goal of these courses is to help guide our children toward becoming self-aware, empowered youth.
